About this yard

Forest Edge Arena sits on 35 acres in Drymere, Swaffham, on the edge of the beautiful Breckland pine forests of Norfolk. The centre features a 77m x 35m indoor arena with an Andrews Bowen Pro-Wax surface, the same specification used at Horse of the Year Show, as well as a 100m x 45m purpose-watered grass outdoor arena and two further fenced grass arenas. The venue hosts a a full calendar including British Dressage, British Showjumping, unaffiliated dressage and showjumping, showing classes, one-day events, indoor eventer trials and fun shows. Individual arena hire and cross-country schooling sessions are also available for riders of all levels. Facilities include well-lit arenas suitable for evening use, ample parking for lorries and trailers, and on-site amenities for spectators and competitors.

What to wear

Riding helmet

A correctly fitted hat to current safety standards (PAS 015 or VG1). Bicycle helmets are not permitted. Hats are available to hire, usually reserved for first-time riders.

Footwear

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.

Clients arriving in unsuitable clothing or footwear may not be permitted to ride, for their own safety. If in doubt, contact the yard before your visit.
