About this yard

Littlebourne Equestrian Centre is a BHS approved school at Littlebourne Farm, Northwood Road, Harefield, near Uxbridge. The site sits within hundreds of acres of green-belt countryside, with woodland and off-road riding for hacks of 1, 2 or 5 hours. The centre runs 60+ horses and ponies and offers private, semi-private and group lessons Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-6pm. Tiny tots from age 5 start in lead-rein classes. The modern arena hosts dressage and showjumping competitions alongside Pony Club. Full, part, working and DIY livery is available with reduced rates for school horses and group lessons.

What to wear

Riding helmet

A correctly fitted hat to current safety standards (PAS 015 or VG1). Bicycle helmets are not permitted. Hats are available to hire, usually reserved for first-time riders.

Footwear

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
