About this yard

Old Town Riding School is a small, family-run yard on Fletcher Way in Hemel Hempstead, licensed by the local authority and running since 2000. It is one of the few riding schools in Hertfordshire with a genuinely developed equine support programme alongside standard tuition, working regularly with specialist provisions, primary and secondary schools, SEND teams, supported living teams, county councils and support workers.

Lessons run from age four through to adults, covering all abilities from complete beginner to more experienced riders. The format range is wider than most small schools: pony rides, private lessons, semi-private lessons, pony mornings, pony days and equine support sessions are all available. Riding hats are provided, and the school asks for 48 hours notice on cancellations.

The yard has a 100 percent recommendation rate across its online reviews, with the quality of care for the horses and the approachability of the instructors consistently noted. All bookings and payment are handled online through the Hey Goldie booking system.
